SoulScapes / Susan Slotter

In 1989, Susan Slotter left the corporate world in Chicago to respond to a vision and a call. A mythic journey into the unknown led her to the Four Corners Southwest Desert in the American Southwest. From this odyssey emerged SoulScapeslandscapes of the soul. Through an eighteen year spiritual/healing journey laced with extraordinary synchronicities and grace, interwoven bodies of SoulScapes images have been emerging to elaborate on themes embedded in the initial Desert body of work.

More than bodies of evocative images, SoulScapes is an inspirational vision, a symphony of experiences that connect us to the divine presence within ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. SoulScapes create bridges between worlds, becoming tools for personal and collective transformation. The gestating SoulScapes vision will be birthed as integrated experiences— books, film and other experiential forms— in “divine timing.”

Photographs from the initial Southwest Desert phase of SoulScapes have been exhibited and published nationally and collected internationally. A partial list of the many holistic and other diverse venues which have featured SoulScapes images in solo exhibitions, publications and presentations include: Wheeler Opera House, Aspen Wellness Center, the Omega Institute, the Fetzer Institute, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, The Sun Magazine, Yoga Journal, Gnosis, Creation Spirituality, Camera and Darkroom, Popular Photography, Photo District News, Advertising Age, Santa Fe TREND/Architecture & Design, United Airlines Destinations, Maine Photographic Workshops, Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, and Hasselblad USA.

Other forms in which Susan’s work catalyzes transformation in individuals’ lives include her Body and Soul photographic/soul journey workshops, and her Soul Portrait Journeys.
